We are seeking a motivated and talented Process Operator for our projects in Darwin, NT and report to the Shift Supervisor.
About the Role:
The Process Operator is responsible for the safe operation, monitoring, maintenance and optimisation of SciDev's Rum Jungle Ground Water Treatment Plant. The role supports project delivery, asset reliability, environmental compliance and customer satisfaction through effective operation of treatment processes and adherence to SciDev's QHSE standards and values,
Key Accountabilities:
- Plant Operations - Safely operate and monitor the Ground Water Treatment Plant and associated process equipment.
- Conduct plant start-up, shutdown and routine operational activities in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Monitor process performance and make operational adjustments to achieve treatment and production targets.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance activities on treatment systems, pumps, dosing equipment, pipework and associated assets.
- Identify equipment faults and elevate issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel as required.
- Comply with all SciDev QHSE policies, procedures and safe work practices.
- Actively participate in risk assessments, site safety inspections and toolbox meetings.
- Ensure environmental compliance and responsible handling of treatment chemicals and waste streams.
- Maintain accurate operational, maintenance and inspection records.
- Update equipment registers, maintenance logs and project documentation as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve plant efficiency, reliability and operational performance.
- Contribute ideas and solutions that enhance safety, productivity and customer outcomes.
- Supporting multiple stakeholders; government, client and internal steer co.
- Ensuring protected and sustainable work practices
- Meeting tight delivery timeframes for the project.
- Working within established budgets.
- Managing client expectations and performance standards.
- Troubleshooting and resolving operational issues in a timely manner.
About You:
- Trade qualification or replicable certification in Mechanical, Electrical, Fitting, Plumbing or Chemical processing or related discipline
- Experience operating industrial process, water treatment, wastewater treatment or related plant equipment.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Ability to interpret operating procedures, maintenance schedules and technical documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
- Current driver's licence.
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel to client sites as required.
