We are looking for an experienced and driven hospitality professional ready to take on a unique dual-role opportunity, overseeing daily operations during the busy dry season and ensuring high-quality service and smooth venue performance.

Task & responsibilities

Staff Management

- Hire, train and manage staff across reception, tour desk-retail, housekeeping, maintenance, and bar teams.
- Handle staff roastering and organize team building-events to maintain a motivated and cohesive team.

Operational Excellence

- Oversee daily operations, ensuring the hostel is clean, and well-maintained.





Supply Management

- Manage supplies and inventory to meet the demands of a high turnover hostel.
- Ensure a steady supply of necessary goods and materials, considering the remote location.

Compliance

- ensure the hostel complies with local regulations and health and safety standards, including fire safety, food hygiene, and COVID-19 protocols if applicable.

Event Management

- Plan and oversee the execution of events and activities to enhance the guest experience and foster a lively atmosphere.

Marketing Promotion

- Implement marketing strategies developed in conjunction with directors and the marketing team to promote and maximize accommodation, beverage, and other retail sales.

Financial Management

- Contribute to financial viability of the hostel by managing budgets, controlling costs, and driving revenue growth through innovative ideas.

Facility Management

- Implement security measures to ensure the safety of guests and staff, such as surveillance cameras, secure locks, and emergency procedures.

Seasonal Management

- Adapt to the seasonal variations in guest numbers, focusing on service delivery during the peak dry season and implementing improvements during the wet season.

Bar Supervisor

- Oversee day-to-day bar operations during the busy dry season.
- Maintain stock control, minimize wastage, and manage costs effectively.
- Develop and implement creative events, specials, and new offerings.




- Build and lead a dynamic team, with a focus on up to 6 bar staff and 2 glasses.
- Active participation in social media promotion and events and specials.
- Handle team-related tasks such as rostering, hiring, and performance management.
- Achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to unlock bonuses at the season's end.

Qualification & experience

Hostel Manager )

- Proven experience in hospitality management, preferably in high-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proactive and innovative mindset.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Ability to handle guest inquiries and resolve issues effectively.
- Ability to thrive in the hot and humid climate of Northern Territory and adapt to the remote location.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekend, and holidays as required.

Bar Supervisor )

- Previous experience as Bar Supervisor
- Strong knowledge of ordering and stock control procedures
- Active on social media, contributing to event promotion
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Effective communication and decision-making skills
