What you'll be doing

As a Social Worker Level 1/2, you'll provide comprehensive psychosocial assessment and intervention to women, children and their families, helping them navigate complex health, social and emotional challenges while promoting positive patient outcomes.





- Deliver comprehensive psychosocial assessments, counselling, advocacy, crisis intervention and bereavement support.
- Provide expert advice to multidisciplinary teams on complex psychosocial, family and medico-legal matters.
- Participate in ward rounds, patient care meetings and coordinated discharge planning.
- Contribute to quality improvement, clinical education, research activities and policy development.
- Maintain professional standards through clinical supervision, evidence-based practice and accurate documentation.

- Qualification: Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)

Selection Criteria

- Demonstrated core competency skills in psychosocial assessments, and demonstrated understanding of issues associated with: Domestic violence, child protection matters, acute and chronic illness, age related illnesses, Guardianship and end of life matters.
- Demonstrated clinical experience or understanding of grief and loss counselling, crisis intervention, discharge planning and working with complex family dynamics.
- Demonstrated understanding of matters associated with working with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background as well as people from culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated well-developed time management skills,



excellent written and verbal communication, including report writing skills and high level computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A good knowledge of community resources and experience liaising with community organisations.
- Commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and skilled learning.
- Ability to work in a team providing 7 day rotating roster as well as participate in the After Hours On Call Social Work Service.
