An established and growing equipment rental business is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead teams across two sites in the Campbelltown area.

Reporting to the State Manager, you will be responsible for leading day-to-day workshop operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. The role involves planning capacity, scheduling work, managing people and parts and driving cost, quality, customer satisfaction, and compliance outcomes in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, coach, and develop a multi-skilled team of up to 20
- Support apprenticeship pathways and competency progression plans
- Ensure licencing, trade certifications, PPE, and equipment inspections are up to date.
- Plan and schedule jobs, allocate resources, and minimise rework and downtime.
- Oversee diagnostics, repairs, servicing, inspections, fabrication/modification (as applicable), and road-worthiness/testing sign-off.
- Manage tooling, plant, equipment, and workshop layout for protected and efficient flow.
- Control parts ordering, receipting, returns, and warranty claims.
- Optimise stock levels (min/max, slow-moving, critical spares) and reduce shrinkage.




- Monitor labour efficiency, job costing, margin, and recovery rates; sign off job cards and timesheets.
- Support budgeting and capex planning for tooling and equipment.

Qualifications, Licences & Experience

- Qualified tradesperson in a relevant discipline (e.g., Light/Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Auto

Electrician, Fabrication/Boilermaker) or extensive equivalent workshop leadership experience.

- Demonstrated leadership of a workshop or service team (typically 3-5 years).
- Strong diagnostic capability and technical problem-solving.
- Proven track record in scheduling, job costing, and workflow optimisation.
- Sound understanding of WHS, risk management, isolation procedures, and safe plant operation.
- Current driver's licence; ability to operate relevant vehicles/equipment as required.
- High-risk work licences, forklift licence, or confined space/working at heights

Heavy vehicle, truck or equipment hire industry experience is essential.
