About the Role
Nagrom is seeking a reliable and practical Yard and Workshop Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our Kelmscott facility.
This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining a secure, organised and efficient workshop and yard environment while providing support to our technical, maintenance and operations teams.
The successful applicant will take pride in maintaining high standards of housekeeping, ensuring equipment and materials are safely stored, and assisting with the movement and preparation of materials and equipment used across our mineral processing and metallurgical testing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard, workshop and designated work areas.
- Empty, clean, move and correctly store drums, bins, buckets and recyclable materials.
- Maintain clear and safe access through high-traffic areas.
- Clean equipment, tools, floors and work areas.
- Return tools and equipment to their designated storage locations.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Receive deliveries and transfer items to the appropriate department.
- Move equipment, samples and materials around the site as required.
- Deliver and collect samples,
equipment and supplies from clients and other locations when required.
- Weigh drums received on site and clearly record their tare weights.
- Assist with obtaining, preparing, measuring and labelling samples for metallurgical testwork.
- Record sample measurements and testwork information accurately.
- Operate metallurgical equipment and machinery when trained and authorised to do so.
- Assist with general workshop, yard and maintenance tasks as directed.
- Organise and remove general, recyclable and controlled waste in accordance with Nagrom’s procedures.
- Promptly report hazards, spills, damaged equipment and unsafe conditions.
- Comply with Nagrom’s safety, quality and environmental procedures at all times.
Desired Skills & Licences Ideally, applicants will have:
- A current HR Driver’s Licence
- A current Forklift Licence (LF)
- Experience working in a workshop, processing plant or industrial environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- The ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the role
- A willingness to learn and undertake relevant training.
