About the role

Reporting to the Team Leader Youth Employment Consultants, you will manage a caseload of young people participating in the Transition to Work program, supporting them to overcome barriers and achieve their employment goals.

You will work directly with disengaged and at-risk youth, helping them develop job readiness skills, connect with training and support services, and secure sustainable employment opportunities. The role also requires strong employer engagement, stakeholder management,



and community networking to identify opportunities for participants and strengthen local employment outcomes.

As the Youth Employment Consultant, you will:

- Manage a caseload of young people and support their journey into education, training, or employment.
- Develop tailored employment and participation plans that address individual barriers and goals.
- Conduct face-to-face and virtual appointments, providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing support.
- Build strong relationships with local employers and identify suitable employment opportunities.
- Promote the benefits of employing young people and support inclusive hiring practices.
- Develop a sound understanding of local labour market conditions and industry opportunities.
- Collaborate with community organisations and support services to achieve positive participant outcomes.
- Monitor participant progress and maintain regular reviews and action plans.
- Achieve program performance targets and key performance indicators.
- Maintain accurate case notes, records, evidence, and compliance documentation.
- Actively contribute to the Transition to Work Community of Practice and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the promotion of AGA services within the community and across stakeholder networks.

About you We are seeking an enthusiastic and people-focused professional with the following background and attributes:

- Experience working with young people, employment services,



education, training, community services, or a related field.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their goals.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Strong organisational and case management capabilities.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
- Understanding of employment pathways, labour market trends, and barriers faced by young people.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

Experience within the Employment Services sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Requirements

Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. The successful applicant will be required to hold or obtain:

- Current National Police Check.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employment).
- Current Driver's Licence.
- Relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in employment, youth, community, training, or related services.
