About the Role
As a Workshop Manager, your initial responsibilities will include:
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of theWorkshop, including allocating jobs and managing workflow to meet deadlines
- Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to develop technical skills within the team Perform hands-on mechanical work as needed, drawing on trade background to support the team during peak workload or complex jobs
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and breakdowns across the fleet/plant.
- Travel to site as required to assess equipment issues, support field maintenance, and liaise with site teams.
- Assess repair, rebuild, and replacement strategies to maximise equipment reliability and availability
- Oversee parts procurement, inventory, and supplier relationships, including pricing, terms, and performance.
- Manage work orders, maintenance records, and workshop reporting
- Ensure workshop compliance with WHS legislation and company policy through regular safetyinspections, toolbox talks, and incident reporting
About you
To be considered for this role the successful applicant must have:
- A Mechanical Trade Qualification, or relevant industry experience
- Valid driver's licence (HR/HC highly regarded but not essential)
- A proactive, hands-on approach - happy to lead from the front and get into the detail when needed.
- Experience using systems and processes for job scheduling, parts ordering, and maintenance records (or willingness to learn)
