FORWAARD Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced and compassionate AOD Case Manager to join our team in Darwin. This is an opportunity to work within one of the Northern Territory's longest-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations, supporting Aboriginal people on their recovery journey through culturally safe, trauma-informed rehabilitation services.

This position is being recruited under a Special Measure pursuant to Section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth). Preference will be given to suitably qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants in recognition of the importance of cultural knowledge, lived experience and community connection in delivering culturally safe services.
About the Role
As an AOD Case Manager, you will provide intensive case management, rehabilitation support and advocacy to clients participating in FORWAARD's residential rehabilitation program.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will:
- Manage a diverse caseload of clients throughout their rehabilitation journey.
- Complete client assessments, risk assessments and individual case plans.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and structured recovery programs.
- Build robust relationships with clients, families, Elders and community stakeholders.
- Advocate for clients and coordinate referrals to external services.
- Maintain high-quality case notes and client records.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and culturally safe workplace.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about supporting Aboriginal people and communities.
- Experienced in Alcohol and Other Drugs, rehabilitation, community services or case management.
- Reliable, accountable and someone your colleagues and clients can depend on.
- Comfortable working independently while also contributing to a supportive team.
- Calm, resilient and confident managing complex client situations.
- Committed to delivering culturally safe, person-centred support.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a genuine understanding of cultural protocols, community engagement and culturally safe practice.
- Experience in case management, rehabilitation or community services.
- Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills.
- The ability to build trusting relationships and support clients experiencing complex challenges.
- A positive attitude,
empathy and a genuine desire to help people succeed.

Minimum of Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Community Services or a related qualification and/or relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience in AOD, rehabilitation, case management or community services.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
