Responsibilities
The role of Waiter is to serve food and beverages, attend to guests' dining requirements and ensure a high level of customer service is delivered to guests.
Position Duties
- Greet customers professionally and provide menus and beverage lists.
- Take dine-in and takeaway orders accurately, including dietary requests.
- Communicate orders clearly to kitchen and beverage staff.
- Serve meals, snacks and beverages promptly to the café's service standards.
- Manage multiple orders and attend to customers during busy service periods.
- Explain menu items and daily specials and recommend suitable food and beverages.
- Process payments using point-of-sale systems and cash registers.
- Clear, clean and reset tables and return used items to the appropriate cleaning area.
- Assist with reservations and customer seating when required.
- Monitor stock and replenish dining and service areas as required.
- Address customer concerns professionally and refer significant matters to management.
- Comply with food safety, hygiene, liquor-licensing and responsible service requirements.
- Work cooperatively with kitchen and front-of-house team members.
- Maintain clean and organised café dining and service areas.
- Perform other incidental and reasonable duties as requested by the employer.
Qualifications
The role requires you to hold at least a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Cert II or above and 12 months of relevant work experience. If no relevant qualification, at least 2 years of relevant work experience is required.
