Mount Isa City Council provides employment for approximately 200 employees in a variety of full time, part time, contractual and casual positions.
These positions cover the full scope of Council operations from administration, financial, professional and technical roles to operational positions within the various sections.
About the role
This position supervises pool patrons to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience at the facilities, including mentoring and overseeing junior lifeguards as well as maintenance of the facility.

About You
You will have:
- Must be available to attend PAID training.
- Ability to use electronic timesheet system or willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain and maintain lifeguard and first aid training.
- Proven capacity to work outdoors in the heat for long periods of time.
- Current Blue Card or ability to obtain upon commencement - Council will assist with registration fees.
- Conduct self in a professional and friendly manner to the public and centre staff.

Recruitment Timeline

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend interviews within the first two weeks of September.
Successful applicants must be available to undertake training in October. Employment will commence upon the successful completion of the training program.

- Training costs will be covered by Council for mandatory Pool Lifeguard and First Aid training.
