Position Context

Position Purpose
The Corporate Fundraising Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and growing the Society’s corporate fundraising program across the Northern Territory. The role will build sustainable relationships with businesses, employers, industry groups and organisations with solid links to the NT, securing financial and in-kind support that advances the Society’s mission and strengthens long-term organisational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a targeted corporate fundraising plan aligned to the Society’s strategic priorities and fundraising objectives.
- Identify, research and engage prospective corporate partners, sponsors, donors and workplace giving supporters across the Northern Territory.
- Develop and maintain a structured pipeline of prospects, partnership opportunities and donor stewardship activities.
- Prepare high-quality partnership proposals, sponsorship packages, briefing materials and donor communications.
- Negotiate, document and manage partnership arrangements in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer and relevant internal stakeholders.
- Secure financial and in-kind contributions that support the Society’s programs, services and community impact.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with corporate partners, community stakeholders, members, volunteers and internal teams.
- Coordinate workplace giving, corporate volunteering and employee engagement initiatives.
- Support key fundraising campaigns and events, including the Vinnies CEO Sleepout and other agreed corporate engagement activities.
- Represent the Society professionally at business, networking and community events.
- Maintain accurate fundraising, donor and partnership records and provide regular progress reports against agreed targets.
- Ensure fundraising activity is conducted ethically, transparently and in accordance with relevant policies, privacy requirements and organisational values.
Key Performance Indicators
- Year 1: Secure at least $100,000 in corporate financial and in-kind contributions; establish a minimum of five active corporate partnerships; and build a qualified prospect pipeline with regular reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
- Year 2: Secure at least $175,000 in corporate financial and in-kind contributions; deepen existing partnerships; expand the prospect database; and demonstrate a sustainable pathway toward $200,000 or more in annual corporate support.
- Ongoing: Maintain accurate donor records,
meet agreed reporting deadlines, support key fundraising campaigns and ensure partner stewardship activities are delivered professionally and consistently.
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, business development, sponsorship, sales, account management or stakeholder engagement.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships, identify opportunities and convert prospects into practical support or partnerships.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare proposals, reports, briefing notes and donor communications.
- Confident verbal communication, presentation and networking skills with the ability to represent the Society professionally.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet agreed targets within a part-time role.
- Sound administrative skills, including accurate record keeping and the ability to use donor, customer relationship or Microsoft 365 systems.
- Understanding of, or willingness to work within, the mission, values and ethical fundraising expectations of the Society.
- Current NT Driver License, or the ability to obtain one.
- Satisfactory National Police Check and Ochre Card, or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
