Your opportunity
Southern Cross University’s is seeking a Lecturer in Law to join our expanding Law discipline. You’ll become part of a tight-knit, highly collegial team of full‑time academics and sessional staff, creating a learning environment that is grounded in real‑world legal practice.
You will make an impact by:
- Delivering engaging, high-quality teaching across law units using contemporary pedagogies
- Translating legal practice and scholarship into meaningful learning experiences for students
- Contributing to curriculum development within a growing and evolving law discipline
- Contributing to research and/or scholarship activities aligned to your experience and interests
- Engaging collegially with academic and sessional staff to support an inclusive, positive team culture
What You Will Bring
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about teaching law, enjoys working closely with students,
and values collaboration with colleagues and the profession.
To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- A doctoral qualification (PhD) in Law or a closely related field, completed within the last 5 years (i.e. still an ‘early career researcher’).
- Demonstrated ability to teach law across blended and online technologies in a university setting (with strong teaching scores)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within and across diverse teams
- An appropriate track record in scholarship as evidenced by publications in good quality outlets, or other comparable scholarly achievements
- While not essential, we’d love it if you had both legal practice experience and a LLB/JD. If you don’t have this experience but still think you would be a great fit, we still encourage you to apply.

Your opportunity is
- Full-time, continuing (permanent),
with potential for additional opportunities to arise subject to future needs and funding
- Located at either Gold Coast, QLD 4225, or Lismore, NSW 2480. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities.
- The level of appointment will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience. The base salary for an ACAD B ranges from $114,482 - $135,392 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $158,409.
