About The Role
- Plan Nutritious Menus: Develop age-appropriate menus incorporating variety, balance, cultural inclusivity, and dietary guidelines, whilst catering for different age groups
- Prepare & Serve Meals: Cook breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
- Manage Allergies & Dietary Requirements: Follow individual allergy and anaphylaxis management plans
- Maintain Food Safety & Compliance: Comply with local council health regulations
- Manage Kitchen Operations: Managing budget, ordering supplies, and maintaining stock
- Support Learning & Relationships: Engage with children about healthy eating
- Communicate with Families & Staff: Share menus with families, discuss dietary needs, and collaborate with Educators on celebrations and cultural events
You’ll Bring
- Previous experience managing a kitchen autonomously
- Experience in a childcare, aged care or on-site kitchen (desirable)
- Current Working with Children's Check (or willing to obtain)
- Sound understanding of food safety, dietary or religious requirements & allergy awareness
- Effective communications skills
- 2 Professional References - hospitality or childcare related
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- I'm Alert Food Safety Training (or willing to obtain)
