The Northern Territory Department of Logistics and Infrastructure (DLI) works with industry, community and government to deliver safe, efficient and future-focused infrastructure that supports economic growth and strong communities.

The Program Delivery - Built Infrastructure division delivers high-quality infrastructure solutions across the Territory, supporting government priorities through strategic planning, technical expertise and innovative project delivery.

About the Role

This is a significant executive leadership chance to lead the Design and Technical Services branch, which provides the specialist architectural, engineering and asset management expertise that underpins government infrastructure delivery across the Northern Territory. The branch plays a critical role in establishing technical standards, providing professional consultancy services, supporting asset lifecycle management, and driving innovation across infrastructure programs.

Reporting to the General Manager Built Infrastructure, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and technical direction across a broad portfolio of services,



ensuring infrastructure design, governance, asset data management and ICT systems support contemporary, evidence-based decision making. The role will also champion modernisation initiatives, strengthen governance frameworks and foster a culture of accountability and high performance across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership and technical direction across architectural, engineering and asset management functions.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams delivering professional consultancy, design services, technical standards and strategic asset planning.
- Oversee the development and modernisation of technical standards, specifications, drawings and ICT systems.
- Drive organisational change initiatives to improve data governance, systems capability and operational efficiency.
- Manage branch budgets and oversee the delivery of design contracts supporting major infrastructure projects.
- Build strong partnerships with government agencies, industry stakeholders and regional communities while contributing to key governance committees and working groups.

About You

- You are an accomplished executive leader with extensive experience delivering strategic outcomes within engineering, architecture, asset management or major infrastructure environments.




- Proven executive leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Strong governance capability and a track record of fostering accountability and high-performance cultures.
- Extensive knowledge of engineering, architecture, ICT systems, infrastructure design and asset lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated success leading complex change management and business modernisation initiatives.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant senior executive experience in a related discipline.
