Total remuneration package value is approximately $363,000 – $423,000 per annum for SMO1 and $463,000 – $495,000 per annum for SMO2, excluding private practice arrangements.

About the Role:
An opportunity exists for a Rehabilitation Physician to join the Department of Medicine at Alice Springs Hospital as either a Specialist Clinician (SMO1) or Senior Specialist Clinician (SMO2), depending on qualifications and experience.

The Rehabilitation Service provides inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care, including 10 designated rehabilitation beds,



supported by a dedicated multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health and medical staff. The service currently includes an RMO position.

The successful applicant will provide specialist Rehabilitation Medicine services across inpatient, outpatient and consultative settings, while providing clinical leadership within the Central Australian Rehabilitation Service. The role offers exposure to a broad range of rehabilitation presentations, including orthopaedic, amputee, stroke and general rehabilitation.

This is an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of rehabilitation services in Central Australia through service improvement, education, quality and safety initiatives, clinical governance and research. Applicants with an interest in service development, workforce development and cutting-edge models of care will be well suited to the role.

Working within a culturally diverse environment, the successful applicant will play an important role in improving health outcomes for Aboriginal patients and people living in remote communities across Central Australia.

Alice Springs Hospital is the major referral centre for Central Australia,
