Come build the freight forwarding software the industry has been waiting for.
Global trade runs on gloriously messy, high-stakes workflows: bookings, customs entries, documents, duties, milestones, exceptions, and the endless carrier email thread. Most of it still lives in legacy systems, spreadsheets, and someone's head. Freight can't move faster while operations are the bottleneck — and that's the bottleneck we're here to break.
Modern freight forwarders and customs brokers are adopting our software quick, because it cuts the manual work, sharpens visibility, and keeps operations accurate.
We're now looking for a Product Manager — Freight Forwarding & Supply Chain to own one of the most important parts of the platform: how operational workflows actually work inside Clear.ai.
This is not a "write requirements, hand them to engineering, disappear" role. It's customer-facing and AI-first. You'll sit with operations users, customs brokers, engineers, and leadership, untangle real-world freight workflows, and turn them into product that's simple, scalable, and smart.
What you'll own
Clear.ai's our core freight forwarding module and touch all aspects of our supply chain platform are yours, including product decisions across:
- Bookings & shipments — quotes, bookings, job creation, consolidations, and the full shipment lifecycle
- Documents & comms — bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, and the carrier/customer back-and-forth
- Visibility & tracking — milestones, ETAs, exceptions, delays, and getting ahead of bad news
- Operations control — SOPs, task management, automation, and exception handling
- Integrations — carriers, CargoWise, port and terminal systems, tracking providers, and more
Your mission: make these workflows accurate, transparent, fast, and genuinely pleasant to use — even when the customer's reality is anything but tidy.
How we work
We ship fast. The best product people are close to users, close to the work, and close to engineering — sitting with an operator, figuring out why a shipment is stuck, mapping the logic, spotting the gap, and helping ship the fix.
And we're AI-first for real. That doesn't just mean we build AI features; it means AI is baked into every aspect of how we work. Everyone here gets fluent with modern tools — Claude Code, Cursor, agent harnesses, loops, and whatever lands next. We'll train you up to become AI-fluent within the first few weeks here.
What we're looking for
- Real-world experience in freight forwarding and broader supply chain operations
- A strong grasp of international logistics shipment lifecycles, customs, documentation, incoterms, milestones, and exceptions.
- Strong opinions on what makes a great freight management product
- Exceptional communication skills
- Comfort working shoulder-to-shoulder with customers and internal teams.
- A builder's bias: you'd rather ship something useful and iterate than launch only when something is perfect.
Nice to have
- Depth across air, ocean, road, or multimodal freight.
- Product, business analyst, implementation, or solutions experience.
- Familiarity with existing software systems, carrier APIs, EDI, or logistics integrations.
The kind of problems you'll solve
- Here's how it's always been done — how do we do it ten times better?
- How do we turn one customer's workflow into a reusable, AI-powered capability?
- What can AI just handle, and where do humans still need a hand on the wheel?
Who you are
Detail-oriented, but allergic to bureaucracy. You care about getting operations right and about building software busy operators actually enjoy using. Ambiguity doesn't scare you, and messy customer workflows are your happy place. You're genuinely excited that AI can finally crack industries too complex, manual, and fragmented for traditional software to touch.
