Lead a dynamic team supporting the Australian Defence Force!
Mentor talent, enhance skills, and foster key relationships with Wodonga TAFE and DefenceTroopCommand.
Based at Robertson Barracks in Darwin, this is your opportunity to lead and develop a team of civilian driver trainers delivering critical training and assessment to AustralianDefenceForce personnel.You’llset the pace for day-to-day operations, build trainer capability, coordinate people and resources, and ensure every program is delivered safely, professionally and to thehigh standardsexpected byDefence.
Working under the broad guidance of the Manager Driver Machinery Plant Training,you’llbe a key link between Wodonga TAFE andDefence—building strong stakeholder relationships, driving continuousimprovementand helping shape smarter, more effective training for the future.

Selected Duties:
- Oversee daily trainer operations, including staff induction, training, and compliance with health and safety policies.
- Collaborate with the DMPT Senior Instructor and Darwin Troop Commandon performance reviews and develop personalised training plans for each trainer.
- Ensure training programs meet Defence and AQF standards whilemaintainingprofessional delivery andaccuratedocumentation.
- Forecast and book resources and facilities, ensuring cost-effective training delivery andoptimaltrainer-to-student ratios.
ABOUT YOU
Skills & Experience
Yourvaluesalign to ours -Integrity + Respect, Community + Collaboration and Creativity + Innovation.
Must be an Australian Citizen to be able to gain andmaintaina Baseline Security Clearance
Holds a valid Certificate IV in Training and Assessment,
with a minimum of fiveyears experiencein the transport industry or otherwise enrolled inor willing to completeCertificate IV in Training and Assessment and progressing towards achievement within 18 Monthsand have5yearstrainingexperience in the transport industry.
Current Heavy Combination (HC) Licence held for at least 12 months.
Proven leadership,communicationand stakeholder engagement skills.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
