Job Requirements For NETWORK ENGINEER L1

- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as switches, routers, firewalls, and access points
- Perform onsite rack installation, cabling, and hardware replacement activities
- Execute configuration tasks using console access and remote management tools
- Troubleshoot network issues and perform root cause analysis (Layer 1–3 issues)
- Coordinate with remote engineering teams (e.g., Systal engineers) during deployment and fault resolution
- Conduct hardware health checks and preventive maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with site access, safety, and operational procedures
- Support migration, upgrade, and expansion projects for network infrastructure
- Document all activities, configurations, and changes accurately in service management tools
- Robust understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Hands‑on experience with enterprise network equipment (Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, or similar)
- Knowledge of console cable usage, CLI-based configuration, and troubleshooting




- Familiarity with wireless access point (AP) deployment and optimization
- Experience with structured cabling and rack setup
- Understanding of network monitoring
- Compulsory Requirement Tools and Safety Equipment for Network Engineer: Console cable Laptop Mobile data Communication software for interaction with Systole engineers Complete set of screwdrivers (to open the rack from the right side, check cable clearance, and remove the power supply using a screwdriver) Lift / Cherry picker (required as the switch is mounted ~25–30 feet above ground; customer confirmed this needs to be brought by the engineer) Documents required to be shared with the customer: ABN number (document) Workers Compensation or Accident Insurance policy (document) Public Liability Insurance (document) Certificate for working at heights Safety gear: Engineer health check report Safety vest Safety helmet/hat Safety shoes Safety glove soring and ticketing tools
