Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Domain Lead

What would you be doing?
We are on the hunt for aCloud Platform & Infrastructure Domain Lead . The Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Domain Lead owns technical direction and delivery quality for the platform and infrastructure workstream within an Azure migration engagement and leads the Cloud Engineers delivering that workstream.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Ownership: Own the technical approach for platform and infrastructure migration activities, including landing zone design decisions and workload placement across assigned applications.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Cloud Platform & Infrastructure Cloud Engineers, allocating work across discovery, build, and cutover phases and reviewing their delivery outputs.
- IaC Governance: Oversee Infrastructure-as-Code standards and templates for application components (VMs, storage, networking), ensuring consistency with Microsoft's Enterprise Scale landing zone patterns.
- Migration Execution Oversight: Approve and coordinate Azure Migrate execution, implementation runbooks, and production cutovers through Change Advisory Board (CAB) processes.
- Governance & Documentation: Act as the primary technical point of contact for the platform stream in Technical Change Management meetings, and ensure documentation supporting these processes is complete and accurate.
- Risk & Dependency Management: Identify and elevate platform-related dependencies and blockers to the Project Manager/Solution Architect in a timely manner.
- Hypercare Oversight: Provide technical oversight during Hypercare, ensuring temporary support arrangements and SOP documentation meet handover requirements.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure platform work adheres to the end-customer's Security Principles Framework, Essential Eight Maturity Model, and ISM mapping requirements.

What will make you successful in this role?
- Strong hands-on background in Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS services and Azure Migrate, with demonstrated experience leading platform delivery at scale.
- Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code capability (ARM, Bicep, or Terraform), including template design and review.
- Deep understanding of Enterprise Scale landing zone architecture and migration wave planning.
- Experience operating within CAB-governed change environments, including approval and scheduling of production cutovers.
- Strong grounding in migration strategy frameworks (the 8Rs) and their application to platform sizing and design decisions.
- Demonstrated people leadership — coaching, work allocation, and quality review for a team of cloud engineers.
- Prior domain lead or technical lead experience on Microsoft-partner-led migration factory engagements.
- Exposure to Australian Government cyber security frameworks (ISM, Essential Eight, DSPF).
- Experience contributing to solution patterns or reference architectures for reuse across a program.
