Assistant Accountant (Part Time – 3 to 4 Days per Week)

Ashleigh Community is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our leadership team.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with solid finance experience who is looking to take the next step in their accounting career. Reporting directly to our Chief Executive Officer, an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will receive ongoing coaching, mentoring and professional development with the opportunity to grow into a full Accountant role.

You will be responsible for the complete day-to-day finance function while progressively developing your financial management, reporting and strategic accounting skills.

About the Role

Working closely with the CEO and senior management team, you will be responsible for:

- Accounts receivable

- Accounts payable

- Payroll

- Bank reconciliations and cash flow management

- Financial reporting and reconciliations

- Fixed asset management

- Prudential compliance and financial administration

- Resident admission financial documentation

- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and year-end audit activities

- Assisting with financial analysis and continuous improvement initiatives

- As your knowledge and experience develop, you will progressively take on broader accounting responsibilities under the guidance of the CEO.





About You

You will have:

- A Degree or tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Finance

- At least three years' experience in a finance, accounts or assistant accounting role

- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll

- Strong Microsoft Excel and computerised accounting skills

- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- A willingness to learn and develop professionally

- A proactive, positive and team-oriented approach

Desirable

- Experience within residential aged care or retirement living

- Knowledge of AN-ACC funding, RADs, DAPs and aged care financial processes

- CPA or CA membership, or currently studying towards skilled qualifications
