L & S Medalia Pty Ltd We are currently seeking a Hostel Manager to join our team on a full-time basis as soon as possible. We are looking for a motivated and hands-on professional who is passionate about tourism and hospitality.

The successful candidate will be friendly, sociable, independent, and professional, with the ability to understand and respond to the needs of a wide range of travellers and tour groups. We are seeking a strong team leader who can bring fresh ideas, organise events and promotional activities, and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the hostel. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required, is essential.

Key tasks and responsibilities: Supervise the day-to-day operations of the hostel to ensure smooth and efficient functioning Oversee the presentation, cleanliness, maintenance, and repair of hostel facilities to ensure they remain in excellent condition Manage reservations, occupancy levels, and guest enquiries to maximise customer satisfaction and business performance Develop, implement, and monitor operational procedures to maintain high service standards Recruit, train, supervise, and support hostel staff to ensure effective team performance Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels at all times Foster a positive team culture focused on service excellence, accountability, and guest satisfaction. Skills and experience required: A qualification in Business, Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field,



equivalent to at least a Bachelor’s degree A minimum of 12 months of full-time experience in a similar role Previous experience in Australia will be highly regarded Excellent customer service and guest engagement skills Strong leadership and staff management abilities Effective problem-solving and issue-resolution skills High-level accuracy in documentation and record-keeping Strong time management and the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in booking systems, administrative platforms, and communication tools A proactive, organised, and professional approach to work.
