This is a multiclass position (AHP5-RN5). Classification will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, and professional background. As the Service Manager, you will be a senior leader within the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for driving protected, high-quality mental health services across your designated area.

Drawing on your advanced clinical expertise, you will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring strong governance, effective service delivery, and continuous quality improvement. You will play a central role in shaping consumer care standards, guiding multidisciplinary practice, and fostering healthy, high-performing work environments aligned with SA Health's Vision and Values, National Mental Health Policy, and the Standards for Mental Health Services. Working with a high level of autonomy and independent decision-making, you will oversee systems that support, evaluate, and continually enhance clinical practice across mental health teams.

You will also be accountable for the cost-effective delivery of services,



the development of sustainable workforce capability, and the provision of expert leadership within nursing (RN5) or allied health (AHP5) streams. In this influential role, you will collaborate closely with senior leaders to advance service excellence, drive innovation, and uphold the highest standards of mental health care. About

You You are a highly skilled and values-driven mental health professional with the capability to lead complex services, guide multidisciplinary teams, and deliver high-quality, consumer-centred care. Whether you come from a nursing background (RN5) or an allied health background (AHP5), you bring advanced clinical expertise, strong leadership capability, and a commitment to strategic service improvement within the mental health sector.

Educational-Vocational Qualifications

- See relevant Role Description (RN5 or AHP5) for the required professional qualifications, registration, and specialty mental health credentials.

Personal Abilities-Aptitudes-Skills

- Strong leadership capability with advanced communication, negotiation, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

Proven ability to work under pressure, manage change, influence team performance, coordinate services, and apply innovative, recovery-oriented approaches across diverse clinical and community settings. Experience

- Demonstrated experience leading or managing services in the health sector, overseeing multidisciplinary teams, delivering large-scale or complex projects, driving quality improvement initiatives, and navigating organisational change.

Experience with clinical or operational information systems and applying contemporary management processes in health settings. Knowledge

- Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, mental health policy frameworks, quality improvement systems, national mental health standards,



human resource management principles, health funding and governance requirements, and the ethical, safety and accreditation standards that guide mental health practice.
