We're seeking an experienced Solution Architect to join the Architecture team at a leading Australian university, taking ownership of application and technology solution design across high-priority, enterprise-wide initiatives.
This role will act as a technology domain expert, applying the university's Tailored Architecture Framework to guide project teams and ensure architectural integrity across solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across business and technology, you will make key architectural decisions that support the adoption of modern platforms and align with the university's broader strategic objectives.

WHAT’S ON OFFER
$1100 per day inclusive of super
THE ROLE:
You will act as a technology domain expert within the Architecture team, focusing on designing, architecting, and delivering application and technology solutions for high-priority projects. Applying the UWA Tailored Architecture Framework, you will guide project teams, ensure architectural integrity across solutions, and support the adoption of modern platforms and best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop, maintain, and manage institution-wide solution architectures, considering functional and non-functional requirements to ensure alignment with the overall Enterprise Architecture
- Establish, develop, and maintain institution-wide business and technical reference models, patterns, and standards within an architectural repository
- Provide technical direction and guidance throughout the complete System Development Life Cycle
- Develop and maintain architecture principles,
contributing to the development and implementation of the technology transformation strategy
- Provide specialist advisory services to stakeholders regarding standards, policies, and processes to ensure best practice
- Make key architectural decisions that align with the University's strategic objectives
- Other duties as directed

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency
- TOGAF 9.1 or later is desirable
- Extensive relevant experience with expertise in data centre, storage, networking, virtualisation, Azure cloud platforms, programming (C#, .NET, REST APIs), or audio-visual/telephony technologies
- Extensive experience delivering change within large organisations
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated consultation and negotiation skills and the ability to build positive stakeholder relationships at all levels
- Proficiency across a range of computing skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet, and email
- Excellent organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve, and work productively as part of a team
- Working knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable
