Join Stone Talk, a thriving family-owned Tasmanian stone business based in Hobart. We are seeking a qualified stonemason or experienced unqualified stone fabricator/installer to join our growing team.

This full-time role involves a mix of factory fabrication and on-site installation work across quality stone benchtops, vanities, splashbacks and architectural stonework.

We are looking for someone practical, reliable and detail-focused, with proven hands-on stone industry experience, good problem-solving ability, initiative, and pride in their workmanship.

Formal qualifications are highly regarded but not essential. What matters most is experience, reliability, attention to detail and the ability to work well as part of a small, professional team.

About the role

The role includes a mix of factory fabrication and on-site installation work, including:

- Cutting, polishing and fabricating stone benchtops, panels and components

- Installing benchtops, vanities, splashbacks and architectural stonework

- Reading plans, drawings and job sheets

- Working with natural stone, engineered stone, porcelain and other premium surfaces

- Helping identify issues early and working through practical solutions





- Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and site presentation

About you

We are looking for someone who:

- Has stone fabrication and/or installation experience

- Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in turning up ready to work

- Has good attention to detail and cares about the finished result

- Is practical and able to solve problems as they arise

- Takes initiative and can work without constant supervision

- Communicates well with team members, clients and builders

- Has a current driver’s licence

- Has a White Card, or is willing to obtain one

Experience with CNC machinery, bridge saws, polishing tools, mitred edges, porcelain, natural stone or engineered stone would be highly regarded.
