About The Role

Entura is currently growing our teams to support our exciting pipeline of projects. We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to conduct, Controls/Automation, SCADA work and power station LV AC design. You will work with and actively contribute to an effective and experienced team who will help you to further develop your skills and knowledge.

The role is based in our Hobart office. Given the diversity of our clients and projects, there may be some local, national and international travel required. You will be occasionally shifting between design work in the office to testing and commissioning in the field.

Communication is one of your key strengths; you’re able to articulate your message both verbally and in writing to stakeholders at all business levels. You are computer savvy, a methodical and logical thinker with outside-the-box problem solving skills. You’re a good team player and enthusiastic to roll your sleeves up and get the job done but with a strong attention to detail ensuring the work you’re producing is of high quality.

Base salary starting from $119,000 plus super

Your Key Responsibilities

- Undertaking projects in hydro power stations, transmission and distribution utilities and the renewables industry.
- Client and project management
- SCADA, telemetry,



control/automation system design and testing including data communications protocols/interfaces, networking, device programming, device configuration and field testing/commissioning
- Rockwell control/SCADA equipment design & testing
- SEL, Eaton, Foxboro, Citect SCADA equipment design & testing
- AC LV design, develop LV single line diagrams, cable design, sizing and selection
- Lighting and power distribution design
- Switchboard design and specification

Your Skills & Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, acceptable for admission as a professional engineer to Engineers Australia, or equivalent professional body
- Minimum 3 years’ engineering experience (engineering design consultancy environment is preferred)
- Skilled computer user.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
