Power and Water Corporation is a Northern Territory Government (NTG) owned utility that operates across a geographic area of 1.3 million square kilometres and within a range of diverse environmental conditions—from the arid desert to the tropical Top End. We generate, transmit and distribute electricity, and deliver water and wastewater services to communities across the Northern Territory, including remote and regional areas.

We’re searching for a Specialist Compliance Officer – Trade Waste who’s ready to step into a high-impact role at the intersection of regulation, sustainability and innovation. If you’re passionate about water systems, compliance, and making a difference across diverse communities—from urban centres to remote regions—this is your opportunity.

You’ll work closely with regulators, industry stakeholders and internal teams—driving outcomes, improving systems, and helping shape the future of trade waste management in the NT.





What you will be doing

- Leading and evolving the Trade Waste Management System to ensure best-practice compliance
- Driving the Backflow Prevention Program, including audits, inspections and system improvements
- Overseeing bulk waste operations, approvals and performance monitoring
- Partnering with regulators and stakeholders to deliver strong environmental and compliance outcomes
- Analysing performance data and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Supporting projects, innovation and system enhancements across Water Services

What you bring

- You’re someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys solving complex problems, and knows how to balance compliance with practical outcomes.
- Strong experience in trade waste, wastewater compliance, or regulated environments
- Knowledge of relevant standards, codes and environmental requirements
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholdersand build trusted relationships
- Highly organised, adaptable, and able to manage competing priorities
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation

Bonus points if you have:





- Experience in project, contract or customer management, or knowledge of Northern Territory water regulations.
