Practice Information This Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisation is currently seeking to fill the following vacancy within their Health and Wellbeing Services division. Their Health and Wellbeing Service is committed to providing holistic health care to improve the health and well‑being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the Gold Coast & surrounding communities. The organisation has clinics located at Bilinga, Miami, Coomera
About the Role The organisation is looking for a motivated General Practitioner who is dedicated to and passionate about providing high quality, culturally sound health care within the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. As a key member of the health team, you will be working closely with the clinical team as well as providing a comprehensive client experience. You will play an integral role in ensuring clinical care is in line with national standards and fostering a culture focused on providing comprehensive patient focused service. There are two full time (Monday to Friday) positions available, at the Miami clinic and the Bilinga clinic.
Demonstrate commitment to the process of continuous quality improvement as an integrated aspect of service development and delivery
Liaising with Clinical Nurse and/or Aboriginal Health Worker to ensure the clients experience is seamless
Strong knowledge and ability to optimise referral pathways to specialist and allied health services for clients
Work closely with the Practice Manager and service team to anticipate and identify opportunities for expanding access to these services for clients
About the Health Service
Maximum 14 patient appointments per day
General appointment time of 30 minutes per patient
Allocated administration time during the workday
Set start and finish times daily (8.30am-4:30pm)
Dedicated 30-minute lunch break
Professional Development included within work hours.
About You Essentials:
Vocational Registration
Unconditional AHPRA registration
Sound understanding of systems and processes required to sustain a high standard of clinical quality and safety
Committed to the principles and practice of Aboriginal Community Control, and to improving the long-term health and well‑being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families & communities
Effective communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonal
Ability to problem solve
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Ability to work autonomously.
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Previous experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities

About Bilinga Bilinga is a quaint beachside suburb on the southern end of the Gold Coast, close to Coolangatta and the Gold Coast Airport. Just around the bend from this area you'll find the world-famous stretch of surf beaches Kirra, Greenmount and Snapper Rocks. Due to the protected nature of this beach, the wave conditions are usually calmer at Bilinga than its neighbouring beaches, making it an ideal place to swim. There is seating, bike racks, path lighting and beach showers along the Tugun to Bilinga Oceanway.
