We are seeking a motivated and talented Project Superintendent to be based out of Darwin, NT and report to the Operations Manager.
About the Role:
The Project Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership, management and performance of Groundwater Treatment plants and associated project activities. The role is accountable for delivering safe, compliant and commercially successful operations while ensuring contractual obligations, environmental outcomes and client expectations are consistently achieved.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach and develop Shift Supervisors and site-based personnel.
- Establish a high-performance culture focussed on safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Hold overall accountability for the operation of the Groundwater Treatment Plant and associated projects - ensuring treatment, production and operational targets are achieved with budgets.
- Ensure appropriate shift coverage and resource allocation.
- Monitor labour, maintenance, chemical and operational expenditures within budgets.
- Maintain strong relationships with client representatives and project stakeholders.
- Liaise with government agencies, regulators, contractors and consultants.
- Develop forecasts and monthly performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative,
contractual and company obligations.
- Drive proactive safety and environmental improvement initiatives.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and operational excellence.
- Support future project growth and business development opportunities.
- Maintaining a strong safety culture in a remote operational environment.
- Balancing safety, environmental, commercial and operational priorities.
- Managing multiple stakeholder expectations including client, government and internal leadership teams.
- Optimising treatment performance across changing groundwater conditions.
- Delivering project objectives within budget and schedule constraints
About You:
- Tertiary Qualification in Chemical / Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years' experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, environmental remediation, mining operations or industrial process facilities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing supervisors and operational teams.
- Experience managing operational budgets and project financial performance.
- Proven experience working with government, mining, environmental or infrastructure clients.
- Strong understanding of process chemistry and water treatment technologies.
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
