We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Lecturer (Level B) / Senior Lecturer (Level C) of Clinical Education (Oral Surgery). The successful candidate will be expected to make significant contributions to the clinical and didactic teaching effort of the School of Medicine and Dentistry and play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.
The incumbent will promote and support the School’s educational mission in relation to dentistry and oral health. They will contribute to the development and implementation of high-quality learning and assessment activities across courses and programs.
The incumbent will also contribute to the broader mission of the School through scholarly and service activities as negotiated with their supervisor.
This is a full-time continuing role based at our Gold Coast location. As Griffith is a multi-campus institution, there may be some requirement to attend other campuses on occasion.
There is a requirement for considerable face-to-face didactic and clinical teaching, so the expectation is that the incumbent will regularly attend campus across the extended dentistry academic calendar, contributing to learning and teaching, research/scholarship and service activities to support the discipline and the School more broadly.
Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level B range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum.
The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level C range $143,418 - $165,374 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $167,799 - $193,487 per annum.
Candidates seeking appointment at Lecturer (Level B) will be expected to possess:
- a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, or equivalent accreditation and standing, and/or significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field.
- current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
- the demonstrated ability to teach and supervise students primarily in Oral Surgery, with the capacity to contribute to teaching and clinical education in General Dentistry and related disciplines.
- evidence of research, scholarship, or professional engagement.
Candidates seeking appointment at Senior Lecturer (Level C) will be expected to possess:
- a postgraduate qualification and either a doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent academic, clinical, or professional standing.
- current registration or eligibility for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
- evidence of experience in the delivery of student learning and curriculum development, including teaching and supervision primarily in Oral Surgery, with a demonstrated ability to contribute to teaching and clinical education in General Dentistry and related disciplines.
- an established record of research, scholarship, or professional practice.
- evidence of academic or professional leadership.
