About the role

At RSM, we're looking for a commercially minded Senior Associate with solid experience in Deals/ M&A; to join our growing Corporate Finance team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity to sit at the intersection of data, transactions and strategic decision-making, helping clients unlock insights that drive better outcomes across the deal lifecycle. You'll apply advanced analytics to real-world M&A; situations, supporting buy-side and sell-side transactions, due diligence engagements, carve-outs and post-deal value creation initiatives. What you'll do

- Deliver analytics across buy-side and sell-side transactions, due diligence engagements, sell-side preparation, carve-outs and post-deal value creation projects.




- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, risks, value drivers and opportunities that influence deal outcomes.
- Utilise tools such as Alteryx, SQL, Python and Power BI to transform data into meaningful commercial insights.
- Translate complex analysis into transparent and practical recommendations for clients, investors and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Corporate Finance and Transaction Diligence teams on transaction engagements and client deliverables.
- Support and mentor junior team members while contributing to project planning and delivery.
- Assist with proposals, business development activities and client presentations.

About you

You're a naturally curious and analytical professional who enjoys solving complex problems and bringing a commercial lens to data. You thrive in fast-paced environments, can manage competing priorities, and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

- 3-5 years' experience in consulting, strategy, deals, transaction services, M&A; advisory, due diligence or a related environment.
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- CA qualification or progress towards completion.




- Strong understanding of the transaction lifecycle and how analytics supports deal decision-making.
- Experience using analytical tools such as Alteryx, SQL and Python.
- Exposure to visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work with complex or imperfect datasets.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present insights to a range of stakeholders.
- Exposure to cloud-based analytics environments such as Azure, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric would be highly regarded.
