About the Opportunity

- Provide a wide range of support to the classroom teacher or teacher librarian to manage availability, schedules and appointments:
- Supervise small groups and individual students on specific learning activities.
- Assist the teacher librarian in preparing, implementing and supervising learning programs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, students and families to support learning outcomes, especially for students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with school staff (teacher librarian, classroom teachers, learning support, leadership and IT) to source and prepare resources and support joint activities.

- Use various software applications and maintain accurate records:

- Maintain and edit the library catalogue (physical and digital), including cataloguing new resources, processing donations, and updating existing records.

- Respond to enquiries and support customer service delivery:

- Coordinate parent volunteers and communicate with teachers and parents regarding borrowing requirements and overdue items.

- Assist in the development, maintenance and operation of systems and databases:

- Maintain library systems, including stock control processes such as weeding, tracking and updating collection records.

- Maintain stock and issue expendable stores:

- Provide administrative support for circulation systems,



including issuing and returning resources, shelving, book repairs and covering.

- General administrative and operational support:

- Create and maintain library displays aligned to current topics and themes.
- Assist with library events such as Book Week and book fairs.
- Maintain a clean and organised library environment.
- Assist with photography.

About You

- Strong organisational skills to manage schedules and appointments for teachers or teacher librarians.
- Proficiency in software applications for record-keeping, document drafting and handling sensitive information.
- Effective communication skills to respond to enquiries and resolve issues promptly.
- Experience helping to develop, maintain and improve systems and databases.
- Knowledge of filing and records management systems, including registers and databases.
- Not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements

- Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
- Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
