Fish Pier Eastland is a premium seafood retailer committed to providing customers with high-quality fresh seafood and exceptional customer service. We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead the daily operations of our Eastland Shopping Centre store and ensure effective store performance, food safety compliance and an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise and oversee the daily operations of the retail store to achieve sales and operational targets.
- Supervise, train and support retail staff, including preparing staff rosters, monitoring performance and fostering a positive team environment.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding product quality, pricing and delivery schedules to ensure a reliable supply of fresh seafood.
- Ensure seafood products are displayed, handled and stored in accordance with food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Monitor sales performance, prepare operational reports and assist with implementing strategies to improve store profitability.
- Resolve customer enquiries and complaints professionally while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Coordinate promotional activities and merchandising initiatives to maximise sales opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety, food safety and company policies.
- Manage cash handling procedures and oversee point-of-sale operations.
Skills and Experience
The successful applicant should demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Retail Manager or similar supervisory role within the retail industry.
- Strong leadership and staff management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a retail team.
- Experience in stock control, inventory management and supplier coordination.
- Sound understanding of retail operations, customer service principles and sales performance management.
- Excellent organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements is highly desirable. Experience in seafood, fresh food or supermarket retail will be viewed favourably.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications.
What We Offer
- Full-time permanent position.
- Annual salary of AUD $78,000 – $82,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.
