The Smug Fig is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand/Dishwasher to join our friendly café team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes pride in keeping the kitchen clean and organised, and is willing to support the chefs and kitchen team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing dishes, kitchen equipment, utensils and glassware
- Keeping the kitchen, dishwashing area and storage areas clean and organised
- Emptying bins and following correct waste-disposal procedures
- Assisting with basic food preparation when required
- Restocking kitchen supplies and helping put deliveries away
- Cleaning floors, benches, sinks and kitchen equipment
- Following food-safety, hygiene and workplace-safety procedures
- Supporting the chefs and other team members during busy periods
- Completing opening and closing cleaning duties
About You
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy kitchen
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting kitchen supplies
- Able to work well independently and as part of a team
- Valuable communication skills and a positive attitude
- Available to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays when required
- Previous kitchen-hand or dishwashing experience is preferred, but training can be provided to the right person
