Native Mineral Resources (NMR) is a publicly listed minerals exploration company with a portfolio of precious metal and base metal properties in pedigree Australian settings.

NMR operates the Blackjack Processing Plant, based in the Charters Towers region of Northern Queensland as part of a recent and exciting transformational acquisition. This acquisition provides the immediate core with extensive exploration potential; several additional projects currently being prioritised and also offers significant upside through resource growth opportunities.

We are seeking a trade-qualified and safety-focused Mining Electrician to support fixed and mobile plant electrical maintenance across our operation.

About the role

Based at our Charters Towers site, the Mining Electrician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting electrical infrastructure across the processing plant, site services, and mining areas. This includes planned maintenance, breakdown response, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards and mine site regulations.

About You

You are a proactive and safety-conscious electrician with experience working in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Your problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high standards of work make you an asset to any site-based team.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform electrical maintenance on fixed plant, mobile equipment, and site infrastructure.
- Carry out fault-finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
- Ensure electrical installations and repairs comply with relevant Australian Standards and site procedures.
- Conduct inspections, test equipment, and maintain detailed service records.
- Support shutdown planning and execution, including electrical isolations and commissioning.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance, processing,



and mining teams to support continuous operations.
- Contribute to a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Execute small projects individually and/or in a small team.

Key Skills:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Electrician in mining, processing, or heavy industry.
- Strong fault-finding skills with both low and high voltage electrical systems.
- Familiarity with PLC’s, motor control systems, pumps, conveyors, lighting, and switchgear.
- Strong ability to read and interpret Single Lines and electrical schematics.
- Experience with field maintenance, breakdown response, and fixed plant equipment.
- Sound understanding of electrical safety regulations and isolation procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Electrical Trade Certificate and current Queensland Electrical Work Licence.
- Current CPL/LVR certification within 12 months.
- Current manual driver’s licence and ability to pass a pre-employment medical.
- First aid, Confined space, working at heights, HV switching (desirable)
- Hazardous area & Instrumentation (desirable but not essential)
- Australian citizen or permanent resident status required.
