The Chance

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Taxation Accountant to join our growing team. In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality taxation and accounting services to a diverse portfolio of individual and business clients by preparing taxation and financial information and ensuring compliance with Australian taxation and regulatory requirements. The role involves preparing tax returns and financial statements, assisting with tax planning and compliance matters, and maintaining accurate financial records to support clients' financial and business objectives. Working closely with senior accountants, management, and clients, you will provide professional accounting and taxation support, contribute to effective financial management, and assist clients in meeting their taxation obligations and achieving their long-term financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and lodge income tax returns and related taxation documents for individual, company, partnership and trust clients in accordance with Australian taxation legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare financial statements, management accounts, and working papers for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries.




- Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns, and other statutory lodgements.
- Research and interpret Australian taxation legislation and provide taxation advice on business structures, business operations, and tax-effective strategies.
- Analyse clients' financial information, identify taxation and accounting issues, and provide practical solutions and recommendations.
- Assist clients with tax planning, business restructures, mergers, acquisitions, and advise on the taxation implications of capital financing arrangements.
- Undertake tax compliance reviews, assist clients with taxation audits and reviews, and liaise with the Australian Taxation Office and other regulatory authorities regarding taxation matters and disputes.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank accounts, and other financial information to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Monitor changes in taxation legislation, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements and implement necessary compliance measures.
- Prepare professional reports, correspondence, and taxation documentation and work closely with senior accountants and clients to deliver high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services.

About You

- A Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of relevant experience in public practice accounting and taxation.
- Proven experience in preparing Individual, Company,



Trust and Partnership tax returns and financial statements.
- Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation, accounting principles, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience dealing directly with clients and providing professional accounting and taxation support is highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Xero or MYOB accounting software, with experience using practice management and taxation software highly regarded.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and meet deadlines effectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional financial reports and build positive client relationships.
- Be CA/CPA qualified or aspiring to complete your CA/CPA qualification.
- Ability to speak multiple languages will be considered an advantage.

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
