Café All-Rounders – Morning and Day Shifts

Locations: Navy Bear Café, Rushcutters Bay/Darling Point and Flying Bear Café, Kirribilli
Employment Type: Casual – two or more positions available
Hours: Approximately 18-25 hours per week
Shifts: Breakfast and lunch shifts, with hours and days negotiable for the right candidates

We are looking for experienced, energetic and customer-focused Café All-Rounders to join our teams at Navy Bear Café and Flying Bear Café.

Both venues are popular harbourside cafés with strong local followings, busy breakfast and lunch services, and relaxed, welcoming atmospheres. These roles would suit hospitality professionals who enjoy morning and daytime work and are confident working across customer service, coffee, food service and general café operations.

About Our Venues

Navy Bear Café is located at the Royal Australian Navy Sailing Association in Rushcutters Bay, near Darling Point. It offers a relaxed waterfront setting and is popular with local residents, sailors, walkers and weekend diners.

Flying Bear Café is located within the Sydney Flying Squadron in Kirribilli. It is a vibrant harbourside café loved by locals, families, dog walkers, kayakers and weekend brunch guests.

What You’ll Do

As a Café All-Rounder, your responsibilities will include:

- Providing outstanding customer service in a friendly and approachable manner
- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Processing payments through the POS system
- Preparing and serving coffee, beverages and food
- Running food and drinks, clearing tables and maintaining service areas
- Supporting the Cafe Manager with daily operations and team coordination




- Assisting with the training and supervision of newer or less experienced team members
- Maintaining the cleanliness, presentation and organisation of the café
- Supporting opening, closing, stocking and general set-up duties
- Remaining calm, positive and organised during busy service periods

What You’ll Need

- Ideally, at least two years’ experience in a busy café or hospitality workplace
- Decent barista skills and a sound understanding of coffee preparation
- Solid customer service and communication skills
- Confidence taking orders and using POS systems
- The ability to multitask and perform well under pressure
- A positive, reliable and collaborative attitude
- Availability to work morning and daytime shifts, including weekends
- Valid working rights in Australia
