About the Role
We are currently seeking compassionate, reliable, and emotionally mature Support Workers to join a new support team in Dubbo supporting a 44-year-old male participant with psychosocial disability and complex support needs.
This role would suit support workers with previous experience in mental health, psychosocial disability, SIL, behavioural support, or complex community supports who are confident working within structured support environments.
The successful applicants will play an important role in supporting the participant with:
- Activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Community participation and transport
- Routine building and independent living goals
- Emotional support and psychosocial recovery-focused approaches
- Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment
- Documentation and professional communication
Shift Availability
Proposed supports currently include:
Weekdays
- 6:00am–8:00am
- 3:00pm–7:00pm
Weekends
- 6:00am–9:00am
- 3:00pm–7:00pm
Additional community participation hours and potential inactive overnight supports may also become available during the transitional phase.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Have experience supporting participants with mental health and/or psychosocial disability
- Be calm, patient, emotionally regulated, and reliable
- Have solid communication and professional boundary awareness
- Be comfortable working within structured support plans and multidisciplinary teams
- Be committed to consistency and ongoing participant rapport building
- Demonstrate a person-centred and trauma-informed approach to support work
Essential Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working With Children Check
- Current First Aid & CPR
- Current Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
- Smartphone with ability to use apps/rostering systems
- Full Australian working rights
Desirable
- Experience within SIL or complex mental health supports
- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability
- Medication competency experience
- Understanding of recovery-oriented practice
