Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our Perth office.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial construction, supermarket fit-outs and retail refurbishment projects throughout Australia.

Working closely with the General Manager, Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, you will play a critical role during the tendering and pre-construction phases, ensuring projects are accurately costed, commercially viable and successfully handed over for delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive tender submissions.
- Interpret architectural, structural, civil, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical drawings and specifications.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs and material schedules.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities and pricing schedules.
- Source and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Develop construction programmes using Microsoft Project.
- Prepare procurement schedules and assist with procurement planning.
- Participate in value engineering and cost planning exercises.
- Identify project risks, cost-saving opportunities and construction methodologies.
- Prepare preliminary project budgets and cost plans.




- Coordinate tender clarifications with clients and consultants.
- Assist Project Managers during project handover.
- Maintain estimating databases and historical cost information.
- Liaise professionally with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist with continuous improvement of estimating systems and procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- A relevant qualification or equivalent industry experience in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum two years' experience as a Construction Estimator.
- Demonstrated experience estimating supermarket fit-outs, retail fit-outs and commercial construction projects.
- Experience preparing tenders for projects ranging from $100,000 to $10 million.
- Strong understanding of Australian construction methods, building materials and commercial construction practices.
- Experience interpreting complex construction drawings and specifications across multiple disciplines.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and subcontractor engagement.
- High level proficiency using:
- Microsoft Project
- Microsoft Excel (advanced level including formulas, pivot tables and lookups)
- Jobman
- Trello
- Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.




- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Highly Desirable

The following experience will be highly regarded:

- Experience delivering national retail or supermarket rollout programmes.
- Knowledge of Australian building codes, National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience with value engineering and cost planning.
- Understanding of commercial contracts including AS 2124 and AS 4000.
- Experience working in fast-paced retail environments where construction occurs around trading hours.
- Knowledge of joinery manufacturing or cabinet making.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- White Card.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
