Hadron Group is looking to strengthen its Sydney team with the appointment of a Manager to their Government Advisory service line.

We are keen to speak to professionals with proven experience working with or for state government agencies in developing strategies, implementation of plans and frameworks, investment appraisals and business cases. Give our focus it will ideally be experience relating to transport, water, housing, precinct development, and social infrastructure initiatives. As a Manager it is expected that you will have high self-efficacy in managing projects, problem solving for government, client engagement and be keen to develop team leadership skills.

You'll work closely with our Sydney team on major infrastructure and service investment decisions for government clients.

About the role

This role centres on advising and supporting government clients through complex decisions tied to major infrastructure and service investments. Your work will help clients prioritise investments, assess affordability, and finalise investment decision collateral that deliver strong public outcomes. You'll bring clarity to complex issues, translating financial and commercial analysis into advice that supports senior decision-makers to move with confidence.

Working with diverse teams, you'll partner with colleagues in strategy, economics and data, policy and delivery to solve problems from different angles. There's plenty of variety – from building investment cases and commercial frameworks to supporting major transactions, mentoring team members and contributing to business development.





Recent engagements our team has delivered include the Social Housing Boost Program Business Case for Homes NSW, the Bradfield City Centre Business Cases, and the Infrastructure WA Prioritisation Framework. Direct experience on projects with Transport, Housing, and Regional Development will be well aligned to our focus areas.

Responsibilities:

- Project Management: Successfully manage and deliver small projects (up to $50k) and/or individual project workstreams, manage project budgets, and ensure relevant contract and commercial documentation is in place.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Play a leading role in client and stakeholder meetings and workshops to support the development and delivery of projects, ensuring clear communication of goals and expectations.
- Proposal and Report Writing: Lead and/or support proposal and report writing, including government and public facing documents, including familiarity with business case templates and guidelines, and best practices on communicating complex matters to wide range of stakeholders and decision makers.
- Client Development: Whilst Managers and Associate Directors at Hadron are not directly responsible for business development, it is important for all our team to build and maintain a qualified network, support client relationships, and help identify opportunities for Hadron to support our clients. Lead the delivery of small proposals (up to $50k), including drafting material, delegating tasks, developing fee estimates, and identifying key win themes.

Beneficial but not essential

- Economics and Investment Decision Making: Understanding and experience, including hands-on experience with creating economic and financial models for business cases and investments,



and familiarity with government sector economic and financial guidelines.

- A genuine interest in building your professional network, understanding client needs, and identifying opportunities to support clients.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality deliverables, including contributing to or leading components of business cases and strategy development.
- Prior experience/exposure working with or for public sector agencies.
- An analytical mindset and the ability to translate and assess the strategic and operational impacts of a project
- Demonstrable writing and presentation skills (of narrative and data) - prior experience in consulting is advantageous but not essential.
- Be proactive and motivated to deliver the best service possible to our clients.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills—both written and verbal.
- Commitment to evidence-based decision-making and a passion for delivering results.

Pay: $130,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year
