About the role

We are seeking compassionate and committed Youth Workers, Out of Home Care provides care and support to children and young people in out of home care and/or living within at risk families. The care and support provided by Youth Workers will enhance opportunities for the young person to participate in age appropriate activities to support development of positive self-regard, to support community inclusion, to support positive relations with family of origin and to contribute to placement stability..

This role is Fixed term part time position ( 25 hours/week) until 31 st of Dec 2026 at Nerang and will be required for flexibility for morning and afternoon shifts.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in out-of-home care.
- Support young people’s emotional, social and developmental wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, carers and stakeholders.
- Apply trauma-informed approaches to support complex behaviours.




- Encourage life skills, confidence and positive self-development.
- Promote family connections and support meaningful relationships.
- Assist with care planning, goal setting and achieving positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records, case notes and required documentation.
- Support safe environments and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with teams, carers and external services to achieve child-centred outcomes.

Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements

- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current Licensed Care Service (LCS)
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Youth Work, Community Services or a related field, or currently enrolled and working towards a relevant qualification
- Completion of Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training (10 modules), or willingness to undertake
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts, evenings and weekends as required
- Capacity to meet the physical and functional requirements of the role
- Commitment to maintaining all required licences, certifications and credentials as current
