About the role
Drainer work all around WA including the Perth CPB
- • Interpret and work from technical drawings, plans, blueprints and specifications to determine drainage system requirements and installation methods
- • Install, repair and maintain below-ground drainage systems, including stormwater systems, soak wells, pipelines and associated drainage structures
- • Set out drainage systems by accurately marking pipe routes in accordance with drawings, specifications and written instructions
- • Prepare trench beds for pipe installation, ensuring correct depth, bedding material and base preparation in accordance with industry standards and specifications
- • Operate and maintain hand and power tools and trenching equipment for excavation, pipe laying and drainage system repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and workplace safety procedures
- • Measure, cut and shape pipes to required lengths and angles using appropriate tools to ensure accurate fit and alignment
- • Position, align and join pipes using approved welding techniques, solvents, cements, seals or mechanical fittings to ensure secure and watertight connections
- • Set and check pipe gradients and fall using levels,
laser equipment and measuring instruments to ensure effective drainage and compliance with design specifications
- • Test completed drainage systems for functionality, flow efficiency and leaks, including pressure testing and visual inspections
- • Identify faults, blockages or defects in drainage systems and carry out repairs, modifications or adjustments to restore system performance
- • Backfill trenches and cover installed pipework using suitable materials, ensuring proper compaction and site stability
- • Restore work sites to a safe and tidy condition by reinstating disturbed surfaces, pavements or landscaping as required
- • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of drainage systems to ensure ongoing compliance with technical and regulatory requirements
- • Maintain accurate records of completed work, inspections and test results for compliance, quality assurance and reporting purposes

Skills and experience
3 Years experience as a Drainer
Water Corp Experience preferred
Long term full-time contract work
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45.00 – $65.00 per hour
