We're hiring for a Full Time and Part Time Sushi Team Member – Supamart IGA Freshwater

Currently, we are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Sushi Team Member at Supamart IGA Freshwater

Position Overview:

You will play a vital role in our fresh food department, working with the Sushi Chef and crafting high-quality sushi take-away packs that delight our customers. We are looking for a dedicated individual who brings passion, creativity, and a commitment to excellence in food preparation. Experience in sushi/take-away sushi making is essential, as well as a strong understanding of food safety and presentation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and create a variety of take-away/pre-packed sushi items, including rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other Japanese-inspired dishes, ensuring the highest quality and presentation for take-away.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene standards in the sushi kitchen area, adhering to all food safety regulations.
- Engage with customers,



providing excellent service and addressing any inquiries about the sushi products.
- Collaborate with the fresh food team to ensure consistent product availability and quality.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Proven experience as a Sushi Team Member or in a similar role within a fast-paced Supermarket environment.
- Expertise in sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and an understanding of Japanese cuisine.
- Robust knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to producing visually appealing and high-quality sushi.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently, manage time effectively, and maintain composure in a busy environment.
- A positive, "can-do" attitude with a passion for food and customer service.
