AC Hargreaves is an organisation based in Seventeen Mile Rocks, Brisbane who specialise in the supply, rewinding and refurbishment of Electric Motors, Pumps and Transformers. We service a wide range of industries including mining, food processing, manufacturing, transportation and the energy sector.
Skill Requirements:
- AC & DC Motor Overhauls and repairs.
- Low Voltage AC Motor rewinding.
- Demonstrated high attention to detail.
- Friendly and approachable attitude and manner.
- Technical diploma or suitable trade qualification.
Key Role Responsibilities:
- Stripping and assessing electrical AC and DC motors.
- Capture and record accurate winding data.
- Rewinding of formed coil stators and rotors.
- Rewinding of random wound stators and rotors including armatures and field frames.
- Test, commission, maintain electrical equipment and control systems.
- Examine wiring diagrams and specifications to determine sequences and methods of operation.
- Use of electrical and electronic test instruments to trace and diagnose faults.
- Testing continuity of circuits.
- Wash, bake and test motor windings and spares.
- Inspect all components.
- Perform incoming electrical tests and record results.
- Strip,
clean and assess heat exchangers / radiators.
- Replace gaskets and pressure test heat exchangers / radiators.
- Restack stator, rotor and armature corestrip windings.
- Clean and prepare cores for rewind.
- Varnish, VIP and cure windings.
- Clean and prepare winding for assembly.
- Paint and prepare components for assembly.
- Identify rotating equipment, mark components, remove couplings and strip motors.
- Dismantle, inspect, overhaul and test brush gears.
- Assemble and test motors.
- Paint, inspect and prepare motors for dispatch.
- Keep work areas neat and tidy at all times.
- Provide technical assistance as and when required.
- Build good relationships with all other team members.
- Ability to work independently to complete repairs and rewinds.
- Ensure customers quality requirements and expectations are achieved.
- Show a high level of commitment to company safety requirements and procedures.
