The Opportunity
Join a leading organisation in a strategic legal operations role, providing interim support during a period of recruitment.
- Duration: 3-6 months
- Arrangement: Full time (4 days per week in-office preferred)
- Location: Sydney CBD
The Role
You will play a key role in enhancing the effectiveness of legal and governance services, with responsibilities including:
- Supporting operational strategy, performance measurement and continuous improvement initiatives for the legal and company secretarial team
- Streamlining legal and governance workflows and improving matter management processes
- Driving legal operations innovation in a complex, highly regulated environment
- Optimising the use of legal and Board governance technology, including matter management tools
- Implementing best practice ways of working across legal and governance functions
- Supporting business planning, annual planning, budget-related activities and broader organisational initiatives
- Collaborating with stakeholders across Legal, Governance, Technology, People and Culture, Finance, Strategy and Risk teams
About You
You bring experience or a strong interest in legal operations and in-house legal service delivery, with a practical, solutions-driven mindset.
Your Experience & Expertise:
- Legal operations, process improvement and matter management
- Business planning, budgeting and legal technology implementation
- Supporting delivery in regulated environments and translating strategy into practical outcomes
- Experience in financial services, another highly regulated industry, or engaging with regulators in Australia or overseas is advantageous
Your Skills & Attributes:
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across legal, governance and business teams
- Sound judgement and the ability to operate with autonomy in a senior environment
- Strong communication skills with a talent for building relationships at all levels
- A proactive, improvement-oriented approach to legal service delivery
- You have the right to live and work in Australia
