Summary

Our client Arkcon Homes is seeking to add a Carpenter and Joiner to support its growing construction and fit-out operations across Victoria. Established from a family vision in 2022, Arkcon has developed into a privately owned construction group delivering residential, commercial and industrial projects with a focus on quality workmanship, practical innovation and enduring building outcomes.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and joinery shop drawings.
- Measure, mark, cut and assemble timber and building materials accurately.
- Manufacture and install custom cabinetry, wardrobes, shelving and storage units.
- Install doors, windows, staircases, skirting boards, architraves and mouldings.
- Prepare cutting lists and select suitable timber materials for each project.
- Carry out site measurements, set-outs and material calculations before installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
- Assemble timber components and joinery products ready for site installation.
- Install wall panelling, ceiling linings and other interior timber finishes.
- Repair, modify and upgrade existing timber fixtures during renovation projects.
- Fit cabinet hardware including hinges, runners, handles and soft-close systems.
- Check completed work for accuracy, alignment,



finish and functional quality.
- Coordinate installation works with builders, supervisors, clients and other trades.
- Maintain tools, workshop equipment and work areas to WHS requirements.
- Ensure carpentry and joinery works meet specifications and Australian standards.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

- Relevant AQF Certificate III with required on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field.
- At least 12 months of practical carpentry and joinery experience in residential or commercial construction settings.
- Demonstrated ability to read drawings, specifications and shop drawings to complete accurate fabrication and installation work.
- Hands-on experience manufacturing and installing cabinetry, wardrobes, shelving, doors, windows and timber finishing elements.
- Competence using woodworking machinery, hand tools and power tools safely in workshop and in office environments.
- Ability to complete site measurements, set-outs, material calculations and cutting lists with close attention to detail.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, quality standards and applicable Australian building requirements.
- Ability to liaise professionally with builders, supervisors, clients and trades to complete work within project timeframes.
