About You

You are a seasoned financial services regulatory lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience, bringing a strong track record from private practice or in-house roles within large organisations.

Your Experience & Expertise:

- Experience working in an in-house legal, compliance, risk or regulatory function, ideally within financial services
- Demonstrated experience assessing regulatory incidents, compliance issues or potential breaches against applicable legal and compliance obligations
- Experience drafting breach reports, compliance notices, regulatory notifications or incident reports for regulators such as ASIC or APRA
- Strong understanding of financial services regulatory obligations, particularly in relation to breach reporting, incident assessment and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with superannuation, insurance, wealth management, investment funds or financial advice businesses would be highly advantageous
- Experience working with external or related stakeholders, such as insurance brokers, superannuation trustees, responsible entities and financial advisory businesses
- Ability to manage overflow incident assessment work during periods of increased reporting or system transition activity

Your Skills & Attributes:

- Strong regulatory judgement and the ability to assess whether incidents may constitute breaches of compliance obligations
- Strong drafting skills, including the ability to prepare explicit incident reports, breach reports, compliance notices and regulator-facing correspondence




- Sound knowledge of financial services compliance and regulatory risk principles
- Ability to work efficiently through a high volume of incident assessments or overflow matters
- Confidence liaising with internal business teams, legal, compliance, risk and senior stakeholders

Requirements:

- Current Australian practising certificate
- Right to live and work in Australia
