The Role

We are seeking a motivated Yardman to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the yard by maintaining equipment readiness, supporting inventory management, and assisting with the safe movement, loading, and unloading of equipment and materials.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Yard Maintenance & Operations

- Perform general yard upkeep, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and functionality of work areas.
- Carry out routine maintenance and basic servicing of plant and equipment.
- Assist in organising tools, machinery, and materials to maintain operational efficiency.

Inventory & Equipment Handling

- Support inventory control by managing stock levels and identifying shortages or surpluses.
- Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts and manual handling equipment.
- Accurately check and move materials and equipment as required.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all yard activities are carried out in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Comply with site safety protocols including PPE use, equipment operation standards, and hazard reporting.




- Assist in promoting a protected working environment for all staff and visitors.

Education/Certificates

- Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent secondary education).
- Current Forklift Licence (LF) – preferred.
- Valid manual driver’s licence.

Experience & Knowledge

- Basic understanding of yard operations, equipment handling, and general maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with safe work practices and manual handling procedures
- Experience using mobile phone apps or digital systems for tracking equipment movements in and out of the yard
- Experience in warehouse, yard, or logistics environments is advantageous
