JAPASU by Sang is an independently owned Japanese restaurant in Zetland, built on genuine hospitality, exceptional food and warm, professional service. We're a close-knit team that takes pride in doing things properly and creating memorable experiences for every guest.
We're looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team.
We're not looking for someone to simply fill a position. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality, takes pride in what they do and wants to grow with us.
This role is ideal for someone who leads by example, stays calm under pressure and genuinely cares about both the team and the guest experience.
What we're looking for
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar Assistant Manager or Supervisor role within fine dining or premium restaurants
- Experience limited to fast food or quick-service hospitality will not be suitable for this role
- Robust leadership and communication skills
- Confident running a busy service and supporting the team
- Solid wine knowledge is essential
- Sake knowledge is a bonus (training provided)
- Reliable, organised and accountable
- Preferred start date: Late August to early September 2026.
