Little Zak's Academy is looking for an experienced and reliable Handyman to support the upkeep, safety, and presentation of our centres.

This role will see you travelling between multiple services, completing maintenance tasks, small repairs, and ensuring our environments remain safe, functional, and welcoming for children, families, and staff.

You'll work closely with Centre Directors and the Operations Team, responding to maintenance requests and proactively identifying areas needing attention.

Key Responsibilities

- General repairs and maintenance across centres (painting, patching, fixing doors/hinges, minor carpentry, etc.)
- Conducting safety checks and completing basic preventative maintenance
- Installing fixtures, fittings, and equipment as required




- Coordinating and supervising external trades when needed
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with WHS requirements
- Maintaining clear communication with Centre Directors and responding to work orders promptly
- Keeping maintenance logs and reporting any major concerns

About You

- Proven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Officer, or similar
- Strong general maintenance skills (carpentry, basic plumbing, basic electrical, painting)
- Ability to work independently and manage your schedule
- Current driver's licence with reliable transport
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach and high attention to detail
- Ability to work across multiple locations
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain through Service NSW)
