Role Overview
We are currently seeking experienced and compassionate FSAs to join our talent pool for placements at various aged care facilities. You will play a vital role in ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene.
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for food preparation, meal assembly and delivery of patient meals. This includes the serving of beverages, mid meal items, collection and cleaning of patient's trays, meal utensils and assists with cleaning of all food service equipment. This position includes manual handling work tasks.
Skills and experience:
- Current Food Hygiene certificate
- Positive knowledge of Manual Handling guidelines
- Understanding of OH&S;
- Flexibility in working hours
- Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients to deliver high standard of service
- Ability to perform Manual Handling work tasks
- Experience in a hospital | medical food service setting
- Applicants must hold a current Victorian Police check.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with elderly or vulnerable populations
- Understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Flexibility to work across different facilities and shifts (AM/PM/weekends)
